Curtis’s musical beginnings started in grade school when his mother suggested he take piano/clarinet lessons and join chorus. Those lessons didn’t last long and although he continued to sing in church, it wasn’t until college that Curtis picked up a fifty dollar guitar and slowly tortured his roommates as he taught himself how to play. Over 10 years later, along with guitar, he has also taught himself how to play piano and drums, played hundreds of gigs along the east coast, and embraced music as his life’s calling. His main influences range from Garth Brooks to Incubus, Jack Johnson to Tom Petty, Jason Mraz to Eminem. He plays a blend of alternative, country, rock, freestyles, and originals at his live shows. His aspirations are to record a full length album and tour the east coast, eventually making his way west and beyond. Music is his passion, sharing is his goal.
"When I realized how important music is in our society and how much I loved to make it, it only made sense to pursue becoming a musician. My goal is to have a positive impact on each and every person that I come in contact with. Whether playing a familiar tune that people can connect with, freestyling about the day or people around me, or playing one of my originals, I just try to make that connection with my audience and get them involved in the moment. My greatest asset I bring to any gig is simply positive energy and I try to project that vibe everywhere I go. Music is universal and I think without it, the world would be a really awkward place. My mission is to travel the world and share positive music with as many people as possible. Thanks for checking me out. If you have a venue you’d like me to play let me know.
